The Chicago Blackhawks announced Monday that they have re-signed three players -- forwards Brandon Bollig and Ben Smith, and goaltender Carter Hutton. The Blackhawks also cut a bit off their payroll, releasing goaltender Alexander Salak.

Bollig and Smith both re-upped with new two-year deals. Bollig, 25, made 18 regular season and four postseason appearances for Chicago last season. He notched his first career NHL goal in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Phoenix Coyotes. Smith, 23, has scored six goals in 26 regular season and postseason appearances with Chicago over the last two seasons. He had 31 points in 38 games played with AHL Rockford last season.

Hutton, 26, went 22-13-4 with a 2.35 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in 43 regular season games with Rockford last season. He is 11-2-1 since signing a one-year deal with Chicago in February. Salak, 25, went just 6-10-2 in 21 games with Rockford, posting a 2.69 GAA.
