Justin Schultz Agrees To Terms With Edmonton Oilers

Schultz brings some offensive punch along with his skills on defense. He notched 44 points in 37 games with the Badgers during the 2011-12 season. Schultz will be able to officially sign a contract once the NHL free agency period officially begins July 1.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. General manager Steve Tambellini will address the media Saturday to discuss the signing.

The NHL free agent market isn’t exactly full of big-time players. There are a couple -- Zach Parise, Ryan Suter, etc. -- but for the most part, the market is a bit underwhelming.

That, however, is only part of the reason why college hockey star Justin Schultz has picked up so much attention as July 1 approaches.
