Jaromir Jagr had a very productive 2012 season for the Philadelphia Flyers in his return to the NHL, but there's been uncertainty over whether or not the 40-year-old would return to the team since the Flyers' playoff run ended. It's far from a done deal at this point, but it appears that Jagr wants to return to Philadelphia.
Jaromir Jagr Working On New Contract With Philadelphia Flyers
Jaromir Jagr and the Philadelphia Flyers are working on a new contract.
According to Jagr’s agent Petr Svoboda, a former Flyers defenseman, the two sides are working on a new deal.
“I’ve talked to Jaromir and I have talked to Paul [Holmgren] and we hope to get something done before the draft.”
Jagr finished the regular season with 19 goals and 34 assists, and his 54 points were good for third on the team behind Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell. Additionally, he contributed eight points in 11 playoff games. Jagr was also more productive in 2012 than the man he more or less directly replaced, Ville Leino, was in 2011.
