The Colorado Avalanche aren't exactly loaded with goal scorers at the moment, so they'll be happy that they've locked up one of the few consistent scorers that they have for a reasonable price. Right winger David Jones, who has scored 20 goals for the offense-starved Avs in each of the last two consecutive seasons, has signed a new contract with the team.
David Jones Signs 4-Year Contract With Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche have signed second line forward David Jones to a four-year deal.

Per the Denver Post, Jones' new deal is worth $16 million over four years. The Avalanche also recently re-signed 36-year-old veteran forward Milan Hejduk to a one-year deal. Jones was a bit-part player for the Avs in his first three seasons in the league, but he's emerged as a reliable second-line scorer. He had 45 points in the 2010-11 season and 37 points in 2011-12.
