The St. Louis Blues locked up an important piece of their team Thursday, agreeing to a five-year contract with center T.J. Oshie.

The Blues locked up T.J. Oshie Thursday night, agreeing to terms with the the center on a five-year contract.

In addition to announcing the signing, the team also announced the deal would average $4.175 million per year.

Oshie has played four seasons in St. Louis. The Blues selected him with the No. 24 pick of the 2005 NHL Draft. The 25-year-old scored a career-high 19 goals last season. He also played a key role for the Blues during the postseason, racking up three assists while playing in nine postseason games.
