Future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr will play for a Western Conference team for the first time in his career in 2012-13, when he pulls on the uniform of the Dallas Stars. According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Jagr has signed a one-year, $4.5 million contract with the club.

Jagr returned to the NHL last season after a three-year stint in Russia's KHL. In 73 regular-season games with the Philadelphia Flyers, Jagr scored 19 goals and notched 35 assists, thanks in part to the breakout season of budding star Claude Giroux.

Jagr tapered off a bit after a hot start to his season, and by the time the playoffs rolled around, he was not performing at the same early-season level. But the Flyers were still aided by his strong veteran presence in their locker room. Groin-injury issues may have contributed to Jagr’s slight decline, too.

Jagr made $3.3 million on his one-year deal with Philadelphia, signed last July 1.
