The deal comes after a breakout season for Pacioretty, who led his team in points, with a career-high 65. He also posted career highs in goals (33), assists (32), and games played (79).

Pacioretty received the Bill Masterton trophy for the 2011-12 season, which is awarded for perseverance, determination, and dedication to the game.
