Defensemen Scott Hannan signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Nashville Predators, as it was announced by the team president and general manager David Poile on Friday. The 33-year old defensemen has goes into this season having played more games than any other in the NHL over the last 10 seasons (798).

Scott Hannan has inked a one-year deal with the Nashville Predators, helping give the team a more balanced defense on both sides.

Since the 1998-99 season, Hannan has put together 197 points (33g-164a) and 522 penalty minutes in 908 regular-season games, as well as 15 points (1g-14a) and 89 penalty minutes in 82 playoff games with San Jose, Colorado, Washington and Calgary.
The Predators have never had this kind of experience in their history. With the Hannan signing, he joins Hal Gill as having the most games played on the team.
But there is still the possibility of a lockout looming due to the collective bargaining agreement set to expire in less than a month. If a deal doesn’t get done soon, there is no telling when the Predators will be able to put everything together.
