The Florida Panthers will now play in the BB&T Center. The ownership group of the Panthers, Sunrise Sports and Entertainment (SSE) reached an agreement with the bank for the naming rights to the arena. BB&T signed a 10-year agreement with SSE.

Currently, SSE is in the process of updating the signage, logos and colors for the new scheme. Everything will be fully converted by Oct. 13. SSE president and chief operating officer Michael R. Yormark expressed his optimism with this new partnership:

This 10-year partnership is indicative of both the incredible recent success and the near limitless future of SSE, the Florida Panthers and the BB&T Center. BB&T is one of America’s most recognizable banks. Adding their name to our facility and at the top of our portfolio of corporate partners is a significant statement about the growth of our company and our standing in the South Florida community and beyond.

The Panthers are currently scheduled to open the regular season at home on Oct. 13 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. But that is still pending the NHL's labor situation.
