The Boston Bruins and Milan Lucic have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension worth $18 million dollars.

Lucic was set to hit restricted free agency following the 2012-13 season. The Canadian played in 81 games for the Bruins during the 2011-12 season, scoring 26 goals while notching 35 assists.
Lucic has spent his entire NHL career with the Bruins -- and he’ll be spending at least the next four in Boston, too. The Bruins made Lucic the No. 50 overall selection in the 2006 NHL Draft, and he quickly rose through the organization, making his Bruins debut in 2007.
Lucic was a key part of Boston’s Stanley Cup team, scoring 30 goals and notching 32 assists in 2010-11. Lucic added another five goals and seven assists in the postseason that year.
The two sides had until midnight to finalize a deal. Once the lockout begins on 12 a.m. Sunday, teams will not be allowed to sign players until the lockout is lifted.
