The New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins face off in an Atlantic Division showdown on Sunday night.

The Rangers opened the 2013 season with a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins, managing just 21 shots on goal in the defeat. Rick Nash, making his debut with New York, assisted Brad Richards in the Rangers' lone goal of the night. The Rangers were unable to recover from a slow start and an early 2-0 deficit and will look to pick up the scoring punch tonight in the season's first home game.
Despite Sidney Crosby being held without a point on Saturday, the Penguins managed a 3-1 win over the Phildelphia Flyers. James Neal and Chris Kunitz scored for the Penguins with defenseman Paul Martin adding two assists, as goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 26-of-27 shots on the night.
The Rangers added even more firepower in the offseason to a team that lost in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2012, and have been one of the favorites for the Stanley Cup heading into the shortened 2013 season. The Penguins, who expect to have Crosby back for an entire season for the first time in two years, bowed out in the first round in the 2012 playoffs in six games to the Flyers.
The Rangers home opener will be broadcast nationally on NHL Network, with local broadcasts on ROOT Sports and MSG Network, with the puck set to drop at 7 p.m. ET.
