NBC Sports Network had itself a solid week, thanks to the return of the National Hockey League.
NHL TV ratings 2013: NBC Sports Network sees ratings grow throughout first week
The NBC Sports Network saw decent audiences throughout their first week of hockey, leading up to the record breaking numbers for Wednesday night’s Bruins vs. Rangers game.

The network averaged 507,000 viewers over four games over the first few days of the season. This is up 27 percent from last season’s average through four games (which, admittedly occurred in October of 2011 with a much more crowded sports calendar) of 398,000 viewers. It is also a 53 percent increase from last year’s full season average of 332,000 viewers.
Most impressive for the network to open the season? The 450,000 viewers for Flyers-Devils. The Philadelphia market was completely blacked out of the game on NBCSN, yet it draw larger audiences than a lot of exclusive games from last season.
Here are your audiences for the opening week of the season on NBC Sports Network. Please remember that Chicago, Detroit and Philadelphia were all blacked out for their games.
