The New Jersey Devils have placed forward Ryane Clowe on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 13, the team announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Ryane Clowe injury: Devils forward placed on injured reserve
Ryane Clowe will miss the next two games due to a head injury against the Winnipeg Jets.

Clowe sustained a head injury when he was elbowed in the head against the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday. Manager Lou Lamoriello stated that the decision to place Clowe on injured reserve was precautionary and inspired by his past history with concussions.
Lamoriello: "We just maybe overreacted to it, but when somebody's had a history, we don't want to take any chances." #NJDevils

Lamoriello stated that Clowe had a headache, which has since subsided. He will not be traveling with the team to Ottawa for their game against the Senators on Thursday night and will be unavailable for Sunday's game against the New York Rangers.
In addition, Lamoriello announced that forward Mattias Tedenby has been activated from the injured non-reserve list.
