Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson will spend the entirety of the 2013-14 season in the NHL, the team announced on Friday morning.
Tom Wilson to remain with Capitals, won’t be sent back to Junior
Tom Wilson will remain with the Capitals for the “remainder” of the 2013-14 season.

The 19-year-old forward is still eligible to play at the junior level and could have been returned to his Ontario Hockey League team, the Plymouth Whalers, had the club decided to do so. Under the rules of the collective bargaining agreement, junior players are eligible to play in nine NHL games without having the first year of their entry-level contract begin.
Wilson has played in seven games this season, registered eight shots on goal and collected 14 penalty minutes. He is averaging 6:42 of ice time per game. Selected with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, Wilson played in three playoff games with the Capitals last year but did not register a point. He will now have plenty more opportunities to attempt to do so.
