In a sight that has become all too familiar this week, Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba had to leave Friday's game on a stretcher after crashing into the boards.

Jacob Trouba had to leave Friday’s game on a stretcher after he crashed into the boards chasing down the puck.

Trouba was attempting to chase down a dump-in behind the St. Louis net and appeared to get his skate tangled up with Blues defenseman Jordan Leopold. Trouba then fell face-first into the boards and remained on the ice for several minutes.
He was seen moving his arms and gave Jets fans a thumbs up as he was removed from the ice.
Jets coach Claude Noel offered an update on Trouba after the game, which the Jets won, 4-3, in a shootout.

Friday was Trouba’s eighth game in the NHL after the Jets drafted him in the first round of the 2012 draft. So far in his career he has scored one goal to go with one assist.
Earlier this week San Jose Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle had to leave on a stretcher following a hit from Maxim Lapierre, a play that resulted in a five-game suspension. On Thursday night Detroit's Niklas Kronwall was on the receiving end of a similar hit from Cody McLeod who is awaiting an in-person hearing with the NHL next week.
