Colorado Avalanche forward Cody McLeod will meet with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Tuesday after boarding Detroit Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall on Thursday.
Cody McLeod to have in-person hearing with NHL
McLeod faces league discipline after boarding Niklas Kronwall on Thursday.

Because the meeting is in-person in New York, McLeod’s impeding suspension will last at least five games. The incident in question occurred just two minutes into the game, when McLeod laid a violent hit on Kronwall in the corner.
McLeod was given a 5-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct, while Kronwall was carried off the ice on a stretcher. The Red Wings later announced he had a concussion.
St. Louis Blues forward Maxime Lapierre was suspended for five games on Friday following a similar boarding penalty on San Jose Sharks forward Dan Boyle. You have to think that McLeod's punishment will look about the same.
McLeod has just one point and 27 penalty minutes through seven games this season.
