Danny Briere injury: Suffers concussion in loss to Predators

The Montreal Canadiens announced that Danny Briere suffered a concussion in Saturday’s loss to Nashville.

Not only did the Montreal Canadiens drop a tough one to the Nashville Predators on Saturday, they also lost forward Danny Briere.

The team announced after its 2-1 loss that Briere suffered a concussion after playing just a little over four minutes.

The injury occurred when Briere was skating through the neutral zone and hit by Nashville's Eric Nystrom. Montreal signed Briere to a two-year, $8 million contract after he was bought out by the Philadelphia Flyers.

In eight games with the Canadiens this season he has scored one goal to go with two assists, and is coming off one of his least productive seasons in the NHL when he scored just six goals in 34 games for the Flyers.
