Five NHL questions: Iginla returns to Pittsburgh, Luongo auditions for Babcock

A daily feature that asks the five biggest questions about today’s NHL action. Will they be answered? (That doesn’t count as one of the five questions.)

Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports
1. How will Jarome Iginla be received in his return to Pittsburgh?

Iginla is chasing a Stanley Cup and he opted to join the Penguins last year instead of the Bruins in the hopes of doing so. Problem? Bruins beat the Penguins int he Eastern Conference Final. Iginla played in 28 games with the Penguins and contributed 23 points over that span.

2. Will Pittsburgh’s fortunes change from last year?

The Penguins were blown out by the Bruins in that series, having lost all four games and being outscored 12-2. Will that change on Wednesday night?

3. How will Roberto Luongo perform against the Detroit Red Wings?

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH CANADA. Mike Babcock coaches the Red Wings but will be moonlighting as the head coach of Team Canada at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Rumor has it that Luongo is interested in making that team. Any added bonus to Wednesday night? Mhm, yeah.

4. Will Phil Kessel keep his point-streak going?

Kessel extended his streak to four games on Tuesday night with a four point performance against the Edmonton Oilers. He has recorded a total of 10 points over that span and leads the Maple Leafs in every offensive category (nine goals, nine assists and 18 points). He's not the only one looking to extend a streak, as the Maple Leafs look for their third-straight win when they challenge the Flames on Wednesday night.

5. How will Dustin Brown perform against the Sharks?

While some have focused on his decreased number of hits, the Kings captain explained his desire to be a puck possession player. Given that he's playing with the puck more, he's not had many opportunities to hit...because he's busy...trying to score with the puck. But that's were the real problem lies; Brown's shot attempts are down from last year. Given all the attention he's received will he respond with a quality performance against San Jose?
