Clarke MacArthur criticizes Randy Carlyle
The Senators forward said he had no relationship with his old Toronto coach before the two face off on Saturday night.

MacArthur was asked about his former coach ahead of Saturday night’s matchup between Ottawa and Toronto, and he didn’t mince words.
“I didn’t have a relationship (with him) and not many guys do,” MacArthur told sportsnet.ca and two Ottawa-based reporters. “It’s one of those things where he runs the show there and everyone knows that and that’s the way it is.
“It’s worked for him in the past, he’s got a (Stanley) Cup from that, but at the same time there’s other ways to do things, too.”
The tipping point, he said, came when he was benched in Game 2 and 3 in the opening round of the playoffs against Boston. MacArthur’s complaints (that Carlyle rarely spoke to him unless it was criticism, and that he would bench him without warning) echoed similar frustrations shared by Mikhail Grabovski this summer.
Both left the club in the offseason; Grabovski was cut and signed by the Capitals, and MacArthur signed as a free agent with the Senators.
