Shawn Horcoff gets told ‘you can’t do that’ after hooking penalty

Referee Mike Leggo calls it like he sees it.

Shawn Horcoff has been in the NHL for over a decade. He's captained the Edmonton Oilers. He's been to the playoffs. He's been around the game of hockey his entire life.

But there are some rules Shawn Horcoff apparently has yet to learn, as Mike Leggo so bluntly pointed out midway through Saturday's contest between the Stars and Capitals. Horcoff committed a hooking penalty and Leggo could not have been more disappointed with what he witnessed.

Leggo was about one more disgusted head shake away from telling Horcoff to go sit in the corner and think about what he had done. It was just another surprisingly funny moment in a night full of them at the American Airlines Center. Washington failed to score on the power play and ended up losing 2-1 to the Stars.
