Five NHL questions: Quick looks to rebound, Sens play without Spezza

A daily feature which asks the five biggest questions about today’s NHL action. Will they be answered? (That doesn’t count as one of the five questions.)

1. How will the first game of the "new" rivalry play out between the Blackhawks and Blues?

With the Detroit Red Wings in the Eastern Conference, the Blackhawks find themselves missing a division rival. Enter the St. Louis Blues. While these teams have been "rivals" for more than 30-years, the departure of Detroit -- and the talent level on both squads -- has brightened the spotlight on this matchup.

2. Will the Blues remain undefeated?

St. Louis is a chic pick as the 2014 Stanley Cup champion. It's only two games, but the club is off to a fantastic start registering an 11-2 goals ratio. Can they keep it up against Chicago?

3. How will Jonathan Quick rebound?

Poor Jonathan Quick. Largely touted as one of the game's top-goaltenders, Quick allowed an ice-length goal when he dropped his stick against the New York Rangers. Quick was obviously upset in his post-game availability. How will he respond against the Ottawa Senators?

4. How will the Senators perform without captain Jason Spezza?

Spezza will be unavailable to play due to a groin issue. Coach paul MacLean said he wants Spezza to properly heal so that the injury doesn’t become chronic. How will the team perform without their top-line center?

5. Will the Flames win their first home game of the season?

Despite low expectations, the Flames have recorded a point in every game this season. The club hosts the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night and looks to register their first home win of the early season. Will they?
