Sharks vs. Jets: Tomas Hertl scores on breakaway chance

Hertl in open space? Forget about it.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

There are a few certainties in hockey. The Philadelphia Flyers will fight everyone. Alex Ovechkin and Steven Stamkos will almost always score from the circles on the power play. Marc-Andre Fleury will disappoint at the worst possible moments.

And Sharks rookie Tomas Hertl will embarrass goaltenders on breakaways. The leading rookie goal scorer proved it earlier this season when he went between the legs on Martin Biron, and he did it again tonight on Ondrej Pavelec.

Yeesh. That kid is good. The Sharks are up 2-0 over the Jets after one period.
