Marian Hossa was a curious late scratch for the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night. Now we know why, as the Blackhawks confirmed he's out with a lower-body injury.
Marian Hossa injury: Blackhawks winger scratched with lower-body injury
Hossa dealt with nerve damage during the preseason.

Hossa missed the entire preseason dealing with a lingering nerve issue in his back, but hasn’t missed a single regular-season game so far this year.
The timing of the injury is surprising. Just a few days ago, Hossa told the Chicago Sun-Times that he was feeling great so far this season:
“To tell you the truth, I am a little bit surprised,” Hossa said. “Which is good. That’s a nice surprise. I’m glad, because I was a little worried in training camp how it was going to play out. But I am pretty pleased with how it is.”
If the injury has been bothering him, it hasn’t shown on the ice. Hossa has nine goals and 15 points this year.
