Penguins vs. Panthers: Tim Thomas leaves net, gives up a goal

Thomas chose poorly.

Joel Auerbach

As a goalie, you probably shouldn't try to play the puck behind your net when the opposing team is on the prowl in your own zone. Especially when the other team is the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Tim Thomas did just that in the first period on Saturday. The Penguins dumped the puck in, pushed the Panthers back into their own zone and took advantage when Thomas went on an adventure behind his own net.
