Zach Parise injury: Wild winger out with lingering lower-body injury

Parise’s foot apparently isn’t fully healed.

The Minnesota Wild have fallen back to earth after a great start to the season, and now they've lost winger Zach Parise to a lower-body injury.

Parise missed the Wild's game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday in what was nearly a game-time decision by Minnesota. Justin Fontaine replaced him in the lineup. Though the Wild haven't specified what is ailing their top forward, Parise injured his foot earlier in the season against the St. Louis Blues and was seen limping throughout the last few weeks.

The injury has clearly slowed him down. Parise has just four points and is minus-four in the last ten games. With Parise out on Monday, the Wild only have one player in the lineup with at least seven goals. Minnesota is in the middle of a 1-6-1 stretch on the road.
