The struggling Nashville Predators will get a much needed boost on Saturday when captain Shea Weber returns to the lineup after recovering from an eye injury.
Shea Weber injury: Nashville Predators captain returns to lineup
Weber’s vision has cleared up enough to play again.

Weber has missed the last three games since getting hit in the eye by a wrist shot on Thanksgiving night. He returned to practice on Friday, and the vision in his eye has apparently cleared up to the point that he can suit up for the Predators again. He’ll wear a visor for the foreseeable future, although he indicated this week he might wear one permanently considering how scary this injury was.
Weber was told his vision would not be affected long-term, but he told The Tennessean on Friday that the initial injury was frightening.
“When you can’t see, it is pretty scary,” he said. “Apparently I was very lucky, and it was just a little blood in the eye and it should all go away and be fine with time. ... I’m lucky that it wasn’t worse.”
The timing couldn't be better for Nashville, losers of four straight games. The Predators have scored just five goals in that span, and Weber's return should help the offense while forward Filip Forsberg is on injured reserve.
