Just two days after Boston Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk was carried off the ice on a stretcher, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli confirmed the veteran will miss the next three to seven days with a back sprain.

Boychuk was injured on Thursday when Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty shoved him into the boards at an odd angle. The hit didn't seem to be malicious, but Boychuck fell to his knees and was in clear distress while trainers attended to him.
Here’s the hit, for which Pacioretty received a two-minute boarding penalty.
He was carried off the ice on a stretcher and taken to the hospital, where it was reported that he had movement in all extremities. The initial fear was that he had seriously injured his back, but Chiarelli confirmed that Boychuk suffered no fractures. He’ll travel with the team and will miss the next few games at the most.
Why such a quick recovery? Because Johnny Boychuk is inhuman.
