The Flyers and Senators will conclude their three game season series on Monday night. Philadelphia recorded regulation wins in the two previous meetings by scoring five goals apiece in each contest. Ottawa has allowed three goals or more in three of their last four games.
2. How much longer will the Columbus Blue Jackets' shutout streak be extended?
Columbus has gone 137:54 without allowing a goal entering competition on Monday night. Pittsburgh has the sixth highest goals per game average in the league (3.03) and has combined for 15 goals in their last four games. The Blue Jackets franchise record for longest shutout streak is 199:19.
3. Will Sidney Crosby extend his three game point streak?
Crosby remains atop the scoring mountain, as the Penguins captain has scored 42 points in 31 games. Crosby has recorded six points in his last three games and has nine points in his last five. He has a five point lead over Patrick Kane and Evgeni Malkin for the league lead.
4. Will the Carolina Hurricanes or Vancouver Canucks extend their winning streak?
The Hurricanes have won three straight and the Canucks have won four straight. WIth the two teams scheduled to play in Vancouver in Monday night, there can be only one winning streak that survives.
5. Will the New York Islanders end their nine-game winless streak?
The Islanders haven't recorded a victory since Nov. 16 and are in the midst of a brutal Western road swing that includes the cream of the Pacific Division. The club will challenge the Anaheim Ducks on Monday and then will travel to San Jose and Phoenix.
