Henrik Sedin becomes Canucks’ all-time points leader

The Vancouver fans gave him a long standing ovation.

I think us hockey fans outside of Vancouver tend to take the Sedin twins for granted. They’ve been around for awhile now and their consistent greatness night-in and night-out is just expected at this point.

But they certainly don't take them for granted in Vancouver. This was never more evident than when Henrik Sedin assisted Alexander Burrows' goal on Friday. Henrik registered assist 757, passing Markus Naslund's previous mark to become the Canucks' all-time points leader.

That was followed by a pretty cool moment. After his record was announced, the fans in Vancouver gave their beloved centerman a rousing standing ovation for a good three minutes of play. When play was finally stopped, Henrik acknowledged the crowd with a wave.

The fans in Vancouver clearly don’t take the Sedins for granted, and they shouldn’t. The two are once-in-a-generation talents. Congratulations to Henrik are certainly in order.
