1. How will Alexander Semin's return to Washington go?
NHL schedule: Five questions for Tuesday
A daily feature which asks the five hardest-hitting questions imaginable about this day in the NHL. Will our quandaries be answered? (That doesn’t count as one of the five questions.)
Semin has carried a reputation that he takes plays off and isn't a good teammate. Former teammate Troy Brouwer voiced these opinions on Monday, which has fanned the flames on Semin's return to Washington on Tuesday night as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes. Several of his new teammates have stood up for him in the media. Will anything else highlight this return trip?
2. Will the Boston Bruins extend their winning-streak to four games?
The Northeast Division is quickly turning into one of the most competitive groupings in the NHL this season. The Bruins are in third place in the division, despite an impressive 11-2-2 record this season (they have played fewer games than their opponents, too). With the Montreal Canadiens sitting at the top and the Ottawa Senators riding a five-game winning streak of their own, can the Bruins extend their streak to four?
3. Will John Tavares extend his point streak?
Currently tied for the league-lead in goals with 13, Tavares has registered points in his last three contests. With tonight’s game against the Boston Bruins being televised on NBC Sports Network, will Tavares extend the streak to four games?
4. Will the New York Rangers end their three-game winless streak?
The Rangers have lost their last three games, in addition to losing three of their previous four. Can they end the slide tonight against the Winnipeg Jets?
5. Can the Calgary Flames win their third straight?
The Flames have struggled this season. However, the club can record a season-high third straight win on Tuesday with a victory over the Minnesota Wild. Will they be able to do it?
