Hurricanes vs. Capitals: Cam Ward’s amazing glove save

Cam Ward robbed Joel Ward right at the goal line.

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward robbed Washington's Joel Ward (who is not, despite what the broadcaster in the video says, Cam's "namesake") right on the goal line with a terrific glove save late in the second period. Ward's save prevented the Capitals from taking a 3-0 lead.

The save was reviewed to ensure Ward’s glove wasn’t over the goal line when he stopped the puck, which would have been ruled a goal, but the save held up to scrutiny.

Ward struggled early in the season for the Hurricanes, but has been playing better recently. He faced 31 shots through the first two periods in this game.
