Sami Salo injury: Defenseman out with lower-body injury

The Tampa Bay defenseman left the game in the second period.

Sami Salo suffered a lower-body injury in the second period of Tampa Bay's game against the Buffalo Sabres and left the game. He didn't return, and the Lightning say he will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.

Salo, in his first season with the Lightning after being a regular fixture on defense for the Vancouver Canucks, has been a solid part of the roster for Tampa Bay this year.

Tampa Bay entered Tuesday night tied for eighth in the Eastern Conference with nineteen points.
