The City of Glendale will begin accepting proposals from third-party companies to manage Jobing.com Arena on Monday.

Jobing.com Arena is the current home of the Phoenix Coyotes franchise.

With the attempted sale of the team spanning several years, the city is taking a proactive approach to remove the management of the arena from prospective buyers. In previous situations, the arena management lease has been a point of contention in the sale.

Glendale hired Beacon Sports Capital Partners to seek bids from qualified arena-management companies independent of the company’s desire to purchase the team. The hope is to establish market value of the management contract by opening it up to bids.

Beacon outlined a timetable of events to council members on Monday. The goal is to begin accepting bids on Monday, begin tours of the facility in May and negotiate a contract with the chosen company by May 24. The hope is for the new company to take over management of the arena by July 1.
