Rangers vs. Flyers: Arron Asham won’t stay down in fight

He gets knocked down, but he gets up again.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Early in the second period of the game between the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers, experienced pugilists Arron Asham and Jay Rosehill threw down together in a bout that featured some huge punches and admirable resilience from Asham, who got up off the ice twice after being knocked down:

The edge in the fight goes to Rosehill here, but Asham certainly put on an impressive display as well.

Asham and Rosehill both have plenty of fighting experience, with dozens of fights for each of them in the NHL and various minor leagues. Asham played two seasons for the Philadelphia Flyers earlier in his career, but he was never a teammate of Rosehill’s. The Flyers acquired Rosehill earlier this season in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks.
