The Chicago Blackhawks will enter the 2013 playoffs as the favorites to represent the Western Conference in the Stanley Cup Final. Having accumulated the most points of any other team in the league, Chicago will have home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the team will be able to do anything with it, as the last four Presidents' Trophy winners have failed to win the Stanley Cup.
Blackhawks vs. Wild schedule: Chicago, Minnesota begins Tuesday night at United Center
The Blackhawks and Wild will kickoff their Western Conference Quarterfinal series on Tuesday, April 30 in Chicago.
The Minnesota Wild will attempt to extend that drought to a fifth year. Having qualified for the playoffs on the last day of the regular season, Minnesota managed to squeak into the second season as the No. 8 seed. With the weight of their offseason acquisitions expanding expectations, the Wild accomplished their goal of earning a playoff berth for the first time since 2008.
On Tuesday night, the team will attempt to build on that progress in Chicago.
