The St. Louis Blues have been forced to scramble to replace their starting goaltender again.
Jaroslav Halak out three weeks with lower body injury
The Blues goaltender will miss significant time to a groin injury for the second time this season.

Jaroslav Halak will miss three weeks with a lower-body injury, according to ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun. Halak previously missed eight games between Feb. 1-20 with a strained groin. LeBrun suggests the injury is “the same as earlier this season” which means more groin troubles for for the Slovak goalie.
The injury occurred during the Blues’ 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Monday. With less than a minute to go in the first period of the game, a Jared Spurgeon shot forced Halak to stretch and sprawl. Halak skated off under his own power but was clearly hurt. Brian Elliott finished the game in relief for St. Louis.
St. Louis called up goaltender Jake Allen from Peoria (AHL) to replace Halak for now. During the 2012-13 season, Halak has gone 6-5-1 with a 2.14 GAA and a .899 save percentage. Allen has, rather than Elliott, gotten the second-most starts this season for the Blues in goal, so it’ll be interesting to see the dynamic Halak’s second injury creates in goal.
