NHL playoffs 2013: Opening night begins out West
The 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs will officially begin on Tuesday night with three Western Conference games, including the reigning champion Los Angeles Kings and Presidents’ Trophy winning Chicago Blackhawks.
In the eyes of many, the West is considered to be a more difficult grouping than its Eastern Conference counterpart. Whether that is the case remains to be seen.
The reigning Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings will begin their title defense against the St. Louis Blues, while the Presidents’ Trophy winning Chicago Blackhawks host the Minnesota Wild. The Detroit Red Wings and Anaheim Ducks are scheduled to finish out the night with the late game.
