Tyler Seguin nearly scored for the Bruins just minutes into the period, but his "goal" was rightly waived off after a brief review. Eventually David Krejci did score to make it 3-1, and then defenseman Johnny Boychuk added another with four minutes left in the middle frame. Boston took a 4-1 stranglehold lead into the second intermission.

The Bruins are looking like Cup contenders against the reeling Maple Leafs.


The Maple Leafs were held without a shot for over seven minutes to start the period. They finished the period trailing in shots 26-14.
The Boston Bruins struggled down the stretch at the end of the regular season, but I guess that’s why the smart hockey analysts say it doesn’t matter who is “hot” going into the playoffs. The Bruins are playing their best game in weeks, now that it actually counts. Toronto’s in trouble.
