Kings vs. Blues Game 5 update: Penner’s buzzerbeater gives L.A. the lead
The second period did not end the way Brian Elliott intended.
0.2 seconds close.
As time wound down, Dustin Penner unleashed a prayer of a shot ...
... that the hockey gods answered.
Yeesh. It's a shame the period ended that way for St. Louis, because Brian Elliott was doing a damn good job of keeping the Kings off the board. The Blues and Kings were tied at 8-8 in shots during the second period, but the Kings were getting the better chances.
Like this Dustin Brown breakaway.
To be fair, Jonathan Quick has been equally impressive. The only goal he gave up was a last-second deflection by Chris Porter off a Roman Polak shot from the point. Other than that, he's been busy doing Jonathan Quick things.
