The second period of game seven saw the Ducks and Wings trade offensive chances. Jonas Hiller had to be strong on the puck to keep the Red Wings from scoring on this chance midway through the period:

The Ducks finished the period on a power play, but had trouble generating any good chances before Teemu Selanne took a penalty on this play to cut the man-advantage short:
