Ducks vs. Red Wings Game 7 Update: Filppula goal puts Detroit up by 2

Both teams had a number of scoring chances in the middle period, but the Red Wings had the only goal.

The Detroit Red Wings are 20 minutes away from advancing to the second round.

The second period of game seven saw the Ducks and Wings trade offensive chances. Jonas Hiller had to be strong on the puck to keep the Red Wings from scoring on this chance midway through the period:

But Hiller couldn't stop this backhander from Valtteri Filppula, which gave the Red Wings a 3-1 lead:
