Dennis Seidenberg injury? Bruins defenseman on bench but not playing in Game 7

Dennis Seidenberg played just 37 seconds in the first period, and it appears as though he’s injured.

Dennis Seidenberg remained on the bench for the entirety of the first period of Game 7 but played just two shifts for a total of 37 seconds. He’s one of the Bruins top defensemen. That’s not right.

Speculation is that Seidenberg has an injury. He was seen talking with team doctors on the bench throughout the first period, and he also was shown by cameras on CBC toying with his hand. Who knows if he’ll come out for the second period, but it certainly looks like he could be done for the evening.

Meanwhile, Zdeno Chara -- Seidenberg’s usual defensive partner -- is picking up a lot of slack. The Bruins’ captain played over 10 minutes in the first. He also took down James van Riemsdyk behind the play early in the period and took a penalty a bit later, on which the Leafs tied the score at 1-1.
