Los Angeles Kings forward Jarret Stoll is considered day-to-day due to an unspecified injury, according to head coach Darryl Sutter on Wednesday afternoon.

Los Angeles Kings head coach Darryl Sutter updated the status of forward Jarret Stoll.

Stoll was tagged with a vicious hit by San Jose Sharks forward Raffi Torres during Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinal on Tuesday night. The play occurred at the 19-minute mark of the second period in the San Jose defensive zone. Stoll was unable to return to the game.
Sutter stated that Stoll "clearly" wouldn't be playing for a while. Given the nature of the hit, his injuries could range from shoulders to his head. Forward Brad Richardson potentially could assume his place in the lineup.
During his postgame press conference on Tuesday night, Sutter stated that he had yet to review the hit by Torres. On Wednesday, the coach called the act “careless” and stated his team wouldn’t lower themselves to Torres’ level to get retribution.
The NHL Department of Player Safety has requested an in-person hearing with Torres, which means he can be suspended in excess of five-games.
