The Detroit Red Wings have a two-goal lead on home ice heading into the final period of Game 3 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks started the second period with an early power play, which featured plenty of nifty passing but not a lot of shooting, and they once again failed to convert. Chicago's sustained pressure during the man-advantage and afterwards, however, meant that the Red Wings caught on the ice were forced to take extra-long shifts:

The Red Wings didn't get their first shot of the second period until more than six and a half minutes had elapsed, but just a few minutes later they had taken the lead on this incredible Gustav Nyquist goal:

While still reeling from Nyquist's goal, the Blackhawks were stunned after Drew Miller put home a rebound just 31 seconds later:

All of a sudden, the Blackhawks found themselves down by two goals in a hostile arena. They would fail to score on another power play late in the period, and the second would end with the Wings holding on to their 2-0 lead. The shots were tied at 23.
