The first six minutes of the third period of Game 3 between the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers had a common theme: Blood.

First, there was an impressive synchronized high-stick sequence, which felled Rangers forward Chris Kreider and Bruins forward Tyler Seguin in unison. Watch carefully, because there are a lot of sticks in action here:
On the follow-through of Seguin’s shot, his stick rode up and under the visor of Kreider, who lay on the ice for a few minutes as he bled. He went to the locker room for repairs and was yet to return in the last few minutes of the third period, where the Bruins took a late 2-1 lead.
Not long after, Bruins center Patrice Bergeron got himself into a visor-on-visor collision with Rangers defenseman Steve Eminger, which required considerable cleanup for Bergeron:
No penalties on either play. Because this is hockey, and there will be blood.
