The New York Rangers and Boston Bruins were locked in a 1-1 tie during a tight third period that could swing the series either way depending on who got a good bounce.
Rangers vs. Bruins Game 3 update: Daniel Paille bouncing goal gives Bruins late winner
The hockey gods have spoken.
The Boston Bruins got that bounce.
The first bounce did not go over the line. But an opportunistic Daniel Paille jumped on the loose puck to bang the rebound past poor Henrik Lundqvist, who kept the Rangers in the game with several highlight saves but could not locate this one.
The goal gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead with just 3:31 left. They hung on for the win and took a 3-0 commanding lead in the series.
