The Detroit Red Wings finally scored on the power play, taking advantage of three consecutive power plays in the second period of Game 4 to take a 1-0 lead on the Chicago Blackhawks.

Detroit came up short on their first 13 power plays of this series, and they were two ticks of the clock from failing on another.
But Jakub Kindl scored off the inside of the post two seconds before Jonathan Toews came out of the box.
Toews took all three penalties, a remarkable feat on three consecutive shifts in a 5:34 span of game time. He strongly disagreed with the second one, his first of two high-sticking calls.
This might be why:
That's Justin Abdelkader's stick that rides up and hits himself in the face. Naturally, that is the penalty on which the Red Wings scored. Toews, the Hawks captain, was so irate on his third trip to the box that Brent Seabrook went over to calm him down.
The Wings carried their lead into the third period, and if they hold on the will go up 3-1 in the series.
