Detroit Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk has not agreed to a contract with a team in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League, according to Datsyuk's agent Gary Greenstein as told to Ansar Kahn of MLive.com.

A report from Sovetsky Sport states that Pavel Datsyuk has come to terms on a deal with a KHL team. Datsyuk’s agent addressed the report.

Sovetsky Sport reported that Datsyuk agreed to a three-year contract with AK Bars Kazan beginning in the 2014-15 season. The 34-year-old star has one-year remaining on a seven-year, $46.9 million contract that carries an annual average value of $6.7 million per season until the end of 2013-14. At that time, he will become an unrestricted free agent.
Datsyuk played in the KHL during the lockout and stated prior to the 2013 regular season that he was interested in concluding his career in the league. Whether that comes at the end of this current deal remains unclear.
However, Greenstein stated that no deal has been reached at this time, via MLive.com:
“Pavel can’t talk to anybody, he’s under contract with the Red Wings for one more year. It’s stupid rumors, not from me, not from Pavel.”
Greenstein added that he plans to talk with Detroit general manager Ken Holland at the conclusion of the team’s playoff run. The only thing the agent confirmed was that if Datsyuk stays in North America, he will only play for the Red Wings.
