Rangers vs. Capitals: Brian Boyle, Derek Dorsett in for the Rangers in Game 2

Chris Kreider and Kris Newbury will sit for the two forwards.

The Rangers lineup will get a bit heftier in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series with the Washington Capitals.

Forwards Brian Boyle and Derek Dorsett will draw in for New York in Game 2 of the series, while Chris Kreider and Kris Newbury will be healthy scratches. Boyle was centering a line with Darrell Powe and Aaron Asham in pre-game warmups, while Dorsett was on a line with Taylor Pyatt and fellow Marian Gaborik-trade acquisition Derrick Brassard.

Dorsett has not yet played for the Rangers since coming over from Columbus in the aforementioned Gaborik deal. A hit from Andrew Alberts fractured his clavicle and put him out for the rest of the regular season. Dorsett had three goals and nine points for the Blue Jackets in 24 games this season.

Boyle is also returning from injury. He hurt his right leg in the first period of an Apr. 18 game against the Philadelphia Flyers, keeping him out for the last five games of the regular season and Game 1 of the Capitals series, which the Rangers currently trail 1-0 headed into Saturday afternoon’s Game 2.
