The Washington Capitals and New York Rangers played another scoreless period, remaining tied 0-0 at the second intermission of Game 2 in their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series.

The goalies, Braden Holtby for the Capitals and Henrik Lundqvist of the Rangers are completely to blame.
Well, alright, maybe the shooters deserve some of the blame.
Here is Marcus Johansson taking too long to shoot, probably because Lundqvist intimidates everyone:
And here is another chance, for Nicklas Backstrom, that somehow went through Lundqvist's legs but missed the net entirely:
That one came after a great tic-tac-toe play with Alex Ovechkin. The Capitals are moving the puck well and generating chances, outshooting the Rangers 25-19. But Lundqvist has more than matched their efforts and Holtby's saves at the other end.
As it was in the first period, the game continued to be a physical affair. These two teams have a testy recent playoff history, and this series is shaping up to be no different.
With the Capitals leading 1-0 in the series and Game 2 still tied, the third period should be a great one.
