This series is an absolute war.

After 60 minutes of play, the Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues are tied at two and heading to overtime. Here's how they got here.

Jeff Carter opened the scoring for the Kings just 14 seconds into the period with this goal, which is also a great example of the occasional importance of face-offs (and rebounds):

Alexander Steen would tie it for the Blues later in the second period, but Carter put Los Angeles back up by one in the third, once again less than a minute into the period:

The Blues were held without a shot for the first nine minutes of the third, as the Kings pressed hard following the momentum gained on their second goal. Neither team would score again, however, until the final minute of the period. That's when Alex Pietrangelo beat Jonathan Quick with this shot to send the game to overtime:

The shots are 32-18 through regulation in favor of St. Louis.
